Ingredients
Scale
24 Oreos
4 oz softened cream cheese
10 oz white candy melts (Ghirardelli brand)
2 tbsp heavy cream (use only if Candy melts need to be thinned out)
Instructions
- Place 24 whole Oreos into a food processor and mix at high speed until crushed to a coarse powder.
- Add 4 oz of softened cream cheese and pulse again until smooth and uniform.
- Remove the blades and scoop out the mixture using a medium cookie scoop, shaping the mixture into balls with your hands.
- Place the shaped balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for 15 minutes.
- Melt 10 oz of white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl at 20-second intervals, stirring in between.
- Dip each Oreo cake ball into the melted candy melts using a fork and transfer to a lined baking sheet.
- Let the chocolate coating set and optionally decorate with melted semi-sweet chocolate or crushed Oreos.
Notes
Crush the Oreos using a food processor for best results. If you don’t have one, place them in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin. For coating, candy melts are preferred over chocolate chips due to texture and flavor differences.
