1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup cold water
3 medium apples
peeled
cored
and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a tart pan by greasing it with butter.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and 1/2 cup unsalted butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Roll out the dough and fit it into the prepared tart pan, then fill it with the apple mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden.
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat until melted. Add heavy cream and sea salt, stirring until smooth to make the caramel.
- Drizzle the salted caramel over the baked tarts before serving.
