12–14 cups French bread
8 large eggs
2 cups 2% milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup strawberries sliced
1/2 cup blueberries
1–2 tbsp powdered sugar
maple syrup as much as you want!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Cut the French bread into cubes and add it to the egg mixture, stirring gently to coat all pieces.
- Fold in the sliced strawberries and blueberries.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and let it sit for about 15 minutes to soak.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
- Let it cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
Notes
For added flavor, consider soaking the bread overnight in the egg mixture for a richer taste. Feel free to substitute other berries based on your preference.
